Quadriplegic Wheelchair Pushing Glove Pattern

This pattern is for the right hand, to make a glove for the left hand, reverse the pattern to make a mirror image.

In order to get the best size, we suggest you print the glove pattern out, cut it out of paper and see how it fits. If it needs re-sizing, scale the image in your page setup prior to printing.

The best material to make the gloves from is thick leather. If extra padding is required, a mirror image of the glove can be cut, and the two gloves stitched together.

The orange squares and the dot are to be aligned and sewn into position. See the close-up photograph for extra information.

The velcro on the top flap of the glove which folds over the back of the hand should have the hooks on it. The velcro on the bottom flap of the glove which folds over the back of the hand, and which remains in contact with the skin, should have the soft velcro on it.

The black rubber pimple which gives extra grip on the tyres when pushing is made from table tennis bat covering. It can be obtained from sports shops. The rubber should be the type which is backed with material as it lasts longer.

The circles of rubber need to be stiched onto the glove, so they can be removed and replaced once they wear out.
