Wheelchair Holidays : Villa - Costa Blanca, Spain

Wheelchair Accessible Villa on the Costa Blanca Spain

LaGuardia31is a luxury wheelchair accessible self catering villa. It is situated near to the town of Javea on the northern Costa Blanca of Spain. The villa is set within its own grounds and comes with a private pool and hoist. It has been designed to cater for people with mobility problems, and is available for rent at all times of the year.

With its traditionally styled beamed ceiling, the villa is comfortably furnished with all the accommodation on one level with no steps or sills. It also comes with an open plan fully fitted modern kitchen

It offers three good sized bedrooms that can sleep a maximum of 6 people, plus a cot. The larger master bedroom is suitable for a wheelchair user, and comes with an en-suite bathroom with a large wheel in shower and double washbasins. The two further bedrooms have twin beds and are served by a generous family bathroom. The large gated driveway has room for two or more cars.

Javea or Xabia (pronounced Habia) lies on the northern Costa Blanca of Spain, halfway between the cities of Valencia and Alicante.

Bounded by the sea to one side, and the impressive backdrop of the Montgo mountain to the other, the area around Javea is scattered with many orange and almond groves. With it’s crystal clear seas and Blue Flag sandy beaches, the World Health Organisation has found Javea to be climatically and environmentally one of the healthiest places on Earth to live.

Access into and around the house is easy, with no steps or sills. The master bedroom has raised twin beds with pressure relieving mattress toppers, with enough space for a left or right wheelchair transfer. There is also a remote control ceiling fan and a monkey pole which is available at no extra cost.

The en-suite bathroom includes a wheel-in shower with non-slip tiles, and a full size padded shower chair is provided. There are double sinks set into a marble top with ample wheelchair access. The raised toilet comes with a fold down grab rail with a transfer from the right or the front. Also the shower chair can be positioned over the toilet.

The house bathroom has a bath, and comes with an over-bath shower and folding shower screen. A grab rail and padded bathboard are provided for a right hand transfer into the bath.

Outside, entry into the kidney shaped pool is via roman steps or by the hydraulic sling seat hoist if needed.
