Complete Quadriplegic (Tetraplegic) Spinal Cord Injury Discussions

Individuals with complete Quadriplegic (Tetraplegic) spinal cord injuries make up around 11% of all spinal injuries. As a result they experience a unique set of challenges socially, psychologically and physiologically. This area may also be used for motor complete Quadriplegics (Tetraplegics) who are sensory incomplete. The terms Quadriplegic and Tetraplegic are interchangeable and both refer to a spinal cord injury in the cervical area of the spinal cord. Incomplete motor Quadriplegic (Tetraplegic) issues should be placed in the Incomplete Spinal Cord Injury section.

Cauda Equina Syndrome Forum

Cauda Equina Syndrome occurs when the nerve roots below the L1/L2 section of the spinal cord are compressed or damaged. This can result in a loss of sensation and movement. As well as sensory and motor nerve roots, nerve roots that control the function of the bladder and bowel are also usually affected.
