Man, you guys is messed UP. Doesn't anyone have regular sleep hours? I like to go to bed about the same time every night and rise at the same time each morning. That doesn't always equate to good sleep, though. I seem to go in cycles where I'll fall asleep quickly and sleep well, then have a period of difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep.
Dat's how I roll, homes.

My pattern is good enough for the boring thread. Head for sleep about 2am, up about 8am. Never have trouble getting to sleep or waking in the night unless I don't need the sleep and I've got free time to fantasise nice things or plan some project. Love the nights.

Went to sleep about 4am, woke at 4.45, 5.30, 7.00, 7.45 and 9am for some reason having a big problem with spasms. Got up for a bit about 10.30ish, aiming for an afternoon nap any time now. I am tired.

How Trin and you other guys can stay up until the small hours is beyond me; but I'm not napping in the afternoon even though I'm an ancient monument.
I thought the older you got, the less sleep you needed; what do you say Oh Wise One Nomis? ...

I was hoping this one would fade away because it is getting a little embarassing for me now.
For the last two days I have slept through the day, 6-8 and 6-4, very shamefull!
I haven't seen daylight for three days, feel like a miner!
I am still running on American time!
Someone please come along who is sadder than me.

For some odd reason I tend to have a 25-26 hr 'day'.. My sleeping always gets off track, I have to work super hard to sleep normal hours..
lately Ive been dozing off at 9 or 10.. up again at 2.. back to sleep by 5 and sleeping till noon.
I hate sleeping till noon, feels like a wasted morning but with this weather its hard to drag your ass outta bed!!

Maybe you could use earplugs? Its funny but since my BF and I are getting used to each other with the occassional sleep over he bought some. I have a deviated septum which causes me to snore until Jan when they break my nose and reset to fix- sounds fun eh? Anyway he uses the earplugs so we can stay in the same bed, because it keeps him awake. Funny but he snores loud enough to make the clapper activate on his bedroom lamps and never notices- lucky for him it is comforting to me....
I had a friend who stopped using ativan and said it was really tough to sleep too- she was eventually able to get back into her routine but every thing bugged her during the withdrawal period. She drank hot milk, hot chocolate from decaf chocolate; played really slow mellow music etc anything to get her drowsy enough to fall off. Hope your nights get shorter soon.

I dont feel sad but maybe I should- I have not slept through the night for 15 years- I wake at 5, try to go to bed by 11 and usually see the clock for the last time at 130 or 2. Then I wake every hour and a half until i give up and drag my little butt out of bed.
For awhile I tried sitting with a grow light on me, sounds funny but it is used to combat season affect disorder for people who get depressed without the summer UV rays etc. I figured it could not hurt so I tried it during the DAY and found that I did get some extra sleep per night after about a week of 15 min to 30 min use. Not the miracle cure by any means but an extra hour here or there can really help.

I would love to have a really good nights sleep.
Last night was about average..go to bed around 11pm..wake at 2, spend an hour tying to get back to sleep. Get up and make a drink, read for a while.Doze on and off till 5 ...then out like a light till 8.
Also I am a really light sleeper so the slightest sound wakes me.

Nice!
The last two mornings I've been woken up at 6.30am to the worst pain in my neck, due to a whole body spasm, but this morning I felt it coming, and managed to reduce the spasm in my neck! It's still bloody painfull though.

I get a painfull neck from time to time Simon, I also get a painful shoulder if I'm laid directly on it so I try and twist a little. Its my own fault as I always sleep on the same side; my left side.
Last night it was bed at 10.30 pm but I had a bad dream so woke at 4.40. It took me a while to get back to sleep, but I still woke at 7 am. I sleep on a Roho; if anyones interested.
I think Simon should shut the website at 10.30 to let everyone get to bed. If you're still awake at midnight Santa wont leave anything....

My sleep cycle is way off. It's not that I'm not tired, but I can't sleep for long before my body wakes me up with some pain or demand, and then I'm completely awake. If it's during the day, I find it difficult to get back to sleep because of noise. If it's the middle of the night, I find it difficult to get back to sleep because of where my head goes.
For the record: 2 am, been awake since 1 am, was asleep from 11 pm till 1 am.

I often go for 3 or 4 nights awake in a row, maybe catch an hour in the day(after drinking all day AND night, provide I don't run out),and then get 5 or 6 hours on the 4th/5th night.
Maybe it is my drinking.I have fooled myself into thinking that it isn't linked when I know it is.

Need a hand with that? I can paint and paper up to a certain height.

Have you ever tried melatonin tablets to re-regulate your sleeping? Or would that interfere with other medication you're on? I have taken melatonin in the past when I've been traveling a lot between time zones, to quickly get myself out of jetlag. It worked well, generally, although I did notice some dehydration.

I'm obviously wierd - went to sleep last night about 1:00am, got woke by alarm I forgot to switch off at 6:45, asleep again by about 6:48, woke at 10:00am. Not untypical for a weekend if I get the chance for a lie in :-) (except I usually try to remember to turn off alarm)
