I had some pretty bad wounds on my buttocks back in late July of this year. My infectious disease doctor prescribed Oxandrolone, an anabolic steroid. The healing (with hyperbaric chamber treatments) was extremely fast. I mentioned this to an RN friend who has been a nurse for 25 years and never heard of this. The doctor in question used this steroid to build muscle and tissue in HIV patients and severe burn patients with great success. I'm thinking he should have gone into wound care.
Serious wounds or healing stopped? Ask your doctor. And I'll add, it's not for everyone. It doesn't have the side effects such as male breast growth or hair growth on women (moustaches) but it's a piece in the arsenal for wound treatment.
