Hi Guys,

Thought i would share some pics and thoughts on my new steed. Its a 2009 KTM450SX and after some long long hours in the shed its finally ready. Took it for a ride in the dunes last weekend and WOW what a bike. Compared to my old 2004 YZ125 i thought it might be heavy and difficult to ride but that couldn't be further form the truth. It turns better, jumps better, lands better, the power is so smooth and lots of it and the ride is very plush compared to my YZ yet has far better bottoming resistance. Oh and the electric start is just the best thing when your legs dont work smile.gif

Anyways here she is....

Only got one crappy pic of the riding in the dunes, having far too much fun to stop and take pictures. I did get some big air during the day and im very happy with how it soaks up big landings.

The Clake (http://www.clake.com.au) is awesome. It takes a bit of getting used to and i've had a couple of stacks stalling it but once you get the hang of it its a great solution offering complete clutch and rear brake control in one lever.

The gears mounted up great on the KTM and the gearbox on the KTM is silky smooth making the kliktronic work like a charm. You can really feel the quality in the KTM gearbox compared to the jap bikes in the shift mechanism.

Haha, you fall over of course smile.gif In the bush I just stop up against a tree/ trailer/ fence post, its quite easy with a bit of practice. Dunes is a bit more difficult so i just dont stop or stop up next to a friend.

Hi Roooost, (think I have all the O's) you've done a great job. Thanks for posting such detailed info of the photos and "bush bars". I never would have thought of those myself. Looks a lot of fun and thanks for sharing all the tech info with us. Great to see how it all works, bet you love it!

Thats one sweet setup i'd love to get back on a bike but the wifes not to keen, she's fine with me on a quad bike.

That was untill she found out i'd rolled it out in the bush with the boys.

All in good fun

Great looking bike man. Did you do any exhaust mods to keep from burning your leg on the pipe?
