does anyone know of a machine/adaptation that i could use to dispense tablets into a handycup to enable me to self-medicate.
the only thing i've found so far is the pivotell- http://www.pivotell.co.uk/PivoTell_Automat...l_Dispenser.htm.
however this isnt really what i need- i dont want it from a reminde4r perspective. i require something that would enable me to store six different tablets and then allow me to press a button/pull a lever etc to enable me to dispense the required tablet into my hanycup.
it would probably be something that a hobbyist could knock up in a garden shed but my hobbyist days are over for now. i have see4n some electrical implants recetntly that go into the shoulpders so maybe one day...

any ideas greatly appreciated,

Perhaps you could tell your care givers to stop being such dicks. Couldn't they wear gloves or perhaps you could sign a disclaimer. That sounds so ridiculous to me. What sort of function do you have?

the solution to this problem ended up being quite simple but I thought I'd mention it anyway. I Found a seven day pillbox on eBay. The pillbox set is made up of 7 strips with four compartments. The strips are big enough for me to pick up using my relatively weak tenadesis grip and the lids have a lip which I can open with my teeth enabling me to swallow tablets independently. My family and friends load the strips when they visit which gets around the issue of the carers not being allowed to dispense medications.

Aside from the issue of my carers not being allowed to dispense medication I am also a lot happier controlling it myself. It also means when my carers are on their breaks I can take medication.

if you live in the UK then ask your pharmacist to make up a week's tray for you. still worth checking that it's correct but it means that all the meds are handled by the pharmacy staff and all you need to do is push a thumb to open the top of each dose (of up to c.10 tabs). the pharmacist should get paid by the NHS to make up the trays and deliver to you once a month.
