Hey there I'm from new york, and I had a tax question. My boyfriend before his accident worked but off the books, and now he is getting disability, which I don't even know how much because the rehab he is in, stays with it, and all my boyfriend gets to our apartment is a check for 30 dollars. So I was wondering should I or can I claim him on my taxes being that we live together, and we've been together for 8 years and I am the one who has been taking care of all the finances as well as for things that he has been needing here and there since his accident. Or should he file by himself? I don't know how that works out so if anyone has any advice I would appreciate it. Thank You.

I would say that you can claim your boyfriend. He does not have to claim his disabilty. Not sure what the 30 dollars is.
The money he made under the tabel. Thats were it stays under the tabel. Don't claim that..If he has a lot of doctor bills you might want to go to a accounting to help, get some of that back..
