I’ve been using Coloplast Leg-Bags successfully for quite a while. I ordered a new prescription on 23rd February but my Pharmacy cant get any until mid April due to Manufacturing problems.

I’ve been offered a Trident Leg-Bag as a replacement, which they hope will arrive tomorrow. I used to use these but find the taps leak. I’m actually wearing one now, which is leaking at the tap, so I’ve fitted a small plastic bag round the tap to prevent my sock and shoe getting wet.

Does anyone here in the UK know of other reliable leg-bags? What do you use?

I haven't any leg-bags left and the one I've been using a week is leaking so I need urgent advice.

Hi Scribbler, I use coloplast trident style ones, I think they are made by "Simpla" with a slide type lock. (T1)
I've always used these and only ever had a few dodgy leaks in 4yrs.
If you have the "slide" type lock, always push it in a little further.
There are two types of the trident style, (T1) which i use. and T2 (different style tap lock)

I think there are ones which have a Tap lock that locks upwards which prevents drips, think their called " simpla plus"

Yes I changed to the Simpla Plus as the tap locks upwards and they never leak. I used to use the slide across taps for years without any problems but then I had scores of problems with leaking taps. Its caused by capillary action, so I end up with ruined shoes.

Other SCI guys said they had similar problems and the Company don't seem to care. I had one batch which had large cuts across the bags; obviously some machinary fault, but they were still packed up and sent out.

If I don't get any leg bags in the morning I'll have to spend the weekend in bed.

Could you not ask a supplier that tends to keep more in stock.. ie Charter healthcare (coloplasts own delivery service), and theres fittle worths .. I'm sure other guys may now more of them.., but its worth a shot!!

I'm a big fan of manfred sauer leg bags. The bendy bags are a lot better than the calf bags IMO and the 1300ml ones are great for long days without access to a disabled loo, and the small ones work great under shorts but they do the normal ones too.

My Pharmacist has started ordering larger quantities of supplies and has contacted the Manufacturer, but it appears there's been a problem at their end. They cant provide my usual leg bag until the middle of April; how stupid is that.

If I'd know all this earlier I'd have sent to every supplier for samples; at least I'd have something as back up.

I use the Simpla Plus bag without any problems, when i first had my indwelling put in my nurse gave me ones from Bard but they swelled up so much it only had to have a little amount of urine in it for it to be the size of a football lol.

I like the simpla plus because of the 2-way tap opening system but 1-way closure, i've also liked most of coloplast bags really none of them blow up or anything. Though cos i'm only 4'9 even the ones with the short tube come down to nearly my ankle certainly mid calf which isn't ideal be good if they could come without a tube at all (i think lol)

I have been using Simpla 750ml leg bags and I discovered they where less than 750ml nearer to 600ml and it filled up and tap leaks so I changed to Bard 750ml which are a bigger legbag and so far I have never had a leak yet,
I change the legbag every 3 days or I change it if it leaks.

Due to having urethral leakage because my SPC is not sucessful, I have to wear 2 leg bags.

I've still not got new leg bags and been using these almost 2 weeks; not hygenic.

The Simpla Plus, with its nice flip up tap is working ok but he Trident, with its push across tap is leaking like mad. I have to fasten a small plastic bag around the tap with an elastic band; this catches any leakage.

A Member from Wales has offered to post me some; isn't that kind?..

I've sent to a few Companies for samples; I can always keep them for emergencies.

I was going to start a new thread but see this one & thought it would do,
Is it just me or does Coloplast's products seem to be getting worse, there's another thread on the site with people not happy with their Peristeen due to cath's popping etc, & I'm now getting peed off with their leg bags.

Odd bag with a drip or drippy tap is one thing but it seems the past few weeks every other bag I've used has had a problem & it been the seams not wielded properly,
Anyone else been having problems with Coloplast products lately?

YES !!! I got agree. I though it was me.Were the drain valve is it will tare a start leaking.."NOT GOOD" I talked to my suppiler. said "I need to change the bad more offten".Sounds like a selling scam to me. "WTF"
