My husband has chronic shoulder pain.He now uses a joy stick with electronic wheels.Has anyone had any treatment for this condition? He sleeps on his back and still gets this pain through out the night. I read on this site that someone used pillows at night to help with the pain. Has anyone had physio or any other type of treatment?

I think I might be the one who talked about the pillows,,,,, I sleep on my back, most nights,, and have found that if I put a small pillow under each of my shoulders and upper arms, I get a lot of relief.

My problem is either bursitis or tendonitis,,, depending on which doctor I'm seeing,,,,, but I get cortisone shots in each shoulder,,, into the bursa,,, every six months or so,, and it helps a lot.

When you're using your arms in place of your legs,,,, something's gotta give, eventually.

After 55 years of wheeling my shoulders are damaged beyond repair. I always have some pain, but it gets worse at night. The only surgical remedy is shoulder joint replacement, and that is not a good option. Consequently, I am left to medications. I am currently using tramidol, tylenol, and meloxicam, which reduce the pain to a level I can live with.

I find Ketoprofen gel rubbed into sore shoulders helps for a while. In the UK it is available on prescription.
