Hi,
I was wakened out of my sleep last night with severe pain in my left leg. I have an incomplete injury at L2. I have motor function below the injury and sensory on my right side but not my left. I have had some strange sensations from my left leg back around the end of last year, but this was something different. It felt like a thousand red hot needles were being stuck into my leg. It has eased since, but I am still getting the odd red hot pin prick from the leg. I nearly fell out of bed it was so bad. Any one else experienced this type of sudden 'sensation'?

Wow William! That sounds terrible!! It's not a "charlie-horse" is it? I've had those before that were so intense that the remnants of pain stayed with me through the day. I think they are related to potassium deficiencies. Don't mean to lessen the seriousness of your discomfort. I know some people have more tolerance to pain than others. I have no tolerance to "medically inflicted" pain (doctors censored2.gif ), but wanted to give you my 2cents worth.
Hope you're feeling better,
Stella
