I promise not to bellyache about this endlessly, but I have a question. I had 3 facet joint injections last Monday and for the first 3 days, the pain I felt was in the spine specifically from the injection. By Friday, the pain I've been dealing with for the last 4 years which has gotten progressively worse had returned. I'm somewhat disappointed because I had high hopes that it would be effective and my pain would be either considerably less or non-existant. No such luck.

I really don't want to do the same proceedure again mostly because it was so damned painful and I am a big wuss. But seriously, if it didn't work this time, who is to say that the second one would?

Can anyone offer any information helpful to me please?
Thanks!
Stella

This doctor said he wanted to do the facet joint injections 2x and then cortarize the nerve endings in that region. What did you receive for pain beforehand? Did you get a local, did you get a sedative? I just can't say that I can endure that pain again for no positive results.
Thanks for responding!

didnt have any pain releif before any facet joint injections, they were the most paifull injections i have ever had !!
on the other hand the paravertabal injection was almost mo pain at all at 1 time during the procedure i couldnt feel anything at all!
i had an injection on the sciatic nerve last year on this occation i had a sedetive put in the back of my hand ,i felt light headed and a bit nausious and geuss what ..... yep it still hurt like hell
so out of all injections ive had only 1 never hurt ...i guess you just got to have the injection and hope it dont hurt ,if it does grit your teeth and its over in a few minuites and it might help with long term pain
