I have just watched Slum Dog Millionaire and it was excellent. I know that any film that wins 8 Oscars should be pretty good but I was still surprised.
I can highly recommend it!

I concur

Slum dog was a great movie.

I watched a horrible movie recently, Twilight.
jaquie_farmer

I watched Gran Torino last week, it was a good film and it is worth going to see although it was a little predictable.

Does Murderball count? Just got my copy and watched it yesterday. Inspirational. Everyone should see it whether or not they are disabled.

Whoever on here recommended it, thank you.

"Every family has its ups and downs" Great script, great throw-away lines and great acting.

I just watched The Wrestler.

Good movie.
Scribbler
The other evening Eva and I watched "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button".

It was certainly 'curious', but we just had to keep watching. We liked it.

"I love you man" is a great movie!!!!!!! you will laugh your ass off

Well, last night I watched The Last Unicorn. Seriously. I bought it on DVD, got all nostalgic since it was my absolute hands down favorite movie as a kid, and it was still as awesome (yet much cheesier) as I remember it. It's a freakin' classic. Anyone in their late 20s and early 30s should know what movie I'm talking about. It's a cartoon.
Zammo
Just watched "No Country for Old Men" Worst.Ending.Ever.
cubanito_016
Fast and furious bad ass movie it makes me wanna race but I cant do it cause Ive learn from my mistakes since my accident

Can't bring myself to watch Marley and Me, why did they have to kill the dog in the end?

City of Ember was ok, I love Sci-fi, fantasy movies.....

I happened to get my hands on a copy of Taken, with Liam Neeson. I am not a huge fan of action movies but this did prove to be a decent movie.

Yeah, I heard Taken was good. A few people I know have said the same thing. Maybe I'll rent it when it comes out on DVD.

Hate to dig up an old thread, but just watched a really strange movie called

Jesus Camp

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0486358/

There are some really strange people in the world.

Last week I watched Changeling and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, both movies disappointed me. I also watched Inside I'm Dancing which is a pretty good Irish movie that made me cry!!!
fatdave
Just watched "no country for old men"

post-1-1155895221.gif

Everyone said I would like it, it is so good. They were wrong...very very wrong.
LuckyinKentucky
The drive in i go to always does double features so i end up seeing some random good ones. Dragonball was good...but i never watched the show. And Wolverine Origins was interesting and certainly had plenty of action but didnt feel as much like an x MEN movie.
E-DOG
Forgive me for being so opinionated, for the ten thousandth time, but, "No Country For Old Men" is a work of frigging art!
And the ending was PERFECT!

Course that's just my opinion, but I DO know better than every one else. el oh el

I must admit I thought the movie was pretty good but then again I'm a sucker for the Coen brothers!

Yep, I've given a couple of copies of that away to a few people newly injured and in rehab thinking that their life is over.

The Wrestler was suprisingly pretty good and damn Marisa Tomei was hot.

Wanting to get out and watch the new Start Trek and new Terminator coming out later this week.

Watched 7 lbs a couple of weeks ago and it was pretty damn good also.

Quantum of Solace was not a good Bond movie.

I'm so glad my brother introduced me to Redbox at Wal-Mart. I hadn't rented a movie in years, but now I have pretty much 2 or 3 times a week for the last 3 or 4 weeks.

Talking about strange people; I just watched "Quid Pro Quo" and then went online to check on those strange and sick people and I couldn't believe my own eyes! Damn doh.gif yikes.gif ohmy.gif head_brick_wall-1.gif
Travelling Blackbird
I just saw Star Trek. Growing up outside of the US, while I was aware of the show and had seen a few episodes, I didn't know it well. I was more of a Doctor Who fan! I loved the new movie. It was exactly what you want from a summer blockbuster: it was fun. Loud, entertaining, don't-think-too-much-about-the-science fun.
fatdave
Watched Kidulthood http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kidulthood

Good movie, brought back some very strong memories.

(sorry for the wikipedia link, instead of imdb, lazy and already a tab open on it)
Travelling Blackbird
Rewatched The 13th Warrior. I love that movie.
twisted_ophelia
I saw that X Men Wolverine movie on Saturday and then Angels & Demons on Sunday. I haven't gone to the movies in ages so it's kind of funny that I saw two this weekend. Both were pretty good. Not great but good.
Texaswheelz
Yea 13 Warrior was a good movie, wife was watching it on TV last night.

Wolverine was ok, but to much special effects that looked like special effects to me.

I'm not a trekie(sp?) but the Star Trek movie was pretty damn good. Of course tons of special effects like Wolverine, but they were done very good and didn't look like half the movie had the actors filmed in front of a blue screen. My wife who is also not a trekie and probably hasn't ever watched any of the original left the movie wanting to go dig up some of the old shows to watch it, so I recommend this movie more then any others I have seen in the last year or two.
wheelinPEACE
I watched seven lbs. over the weekend....real good movie.

seen twilight and i liked the movie(because edward was nice to look at...hehehe) the book is a million times better. books always are but to me in this case the movie doesn't even do the movie justice.
I hope im not the only one who understands what i just said. unsure.gif

Ya, great music, great actors, and great cars. But that '55 would've wasted that coupe

Just saw the Wrestler from Netflix. Ireally liked Micky Rorke in it. He bulked up ALOT and reminded me of a Hulk Hogan look-a-like.
4 out of 5 stars for me, and I don't do tv wrestling, ever.

Thanks Q for this update, I'll give it a shot.
I don't like wrestling as well and that was keeping me from watching it!
fatdave
Mirsa Tomei as a stripper, worth 4 out of 5 on that point alone.

Guess what was in my mailbox today, a gift from NetFlix; The Wrestler. I'm a big fan of Mickey Rourke's, have been since I saw him in The Pope Of Greenwich Village with Eric Roberts...a great movie if you haven't seen it...Body Heat and Domino aren't to bad either.

Watched The Wrestler late wednesday night, enjoyed it a lot, Mickey Rourke's performance was great and yep MT is looking mighty fine; with and without clothes wink05.gif

Finished an old favorite last night, Ladyhawk, just wanted a bit of fantasy/romance for a change.
fatdave
I watched the curious case of Benjamin button...I have to agree with scribs...its curious alright.

We own the night...could have been better.

Cocaine Cowboys; Was a nice documentary on the cocaine trade in the 80's in Florida.

I watched "Endless Summer" for the 213284308th time...still good.

What the hell? Just on that point alone the movie got 7 out of 5. Holy damn was she hot in that or what. And she's 40+ isn't she?

The International

Kinda makes you wonder about all that debt out there and whose is really dancing, pulling the stings...not a half bad thriller.
