Hello,

I am getting really down about this sad.gif

As soon as I get in to my chair I start to sweat loads all day but just on the left side of my face and left arm.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Cheers James

Hi, Yes my husband sweats sometimes when he gets in his chair, sometimes he gets dizziness, he has been to the ER for this several times & everytime he has a UTI do u have a foley? or even in & out cathing yourself? you may have an infection... oh also his Blood pressure gets too low.. his spinal cord DR. recently put him on BP Meds. for only as needed.. anyway i hope this helped Good luck.

if its only in ure chair, ck cushion surface, armrest/side guard surf, and lower backrest....had this issue for long time...lower backrest was wrinkling and causing sweat reaction....it doesn't have to be a biological prob, it can just be phys stimulant causing it

The sweat might be a response to pain. Is there something poking you on the chair? How much sensation do you have, and how about any spasms that go along with the sweating?

If you are positioned wrong that could cause it......just having your hips or legs at a less than optimum position for you. (the correct position can sometimes be harder for who ever fitted you for your chair than it sounds especially if you're not able to give much feedback from lack of sensation). Also some quads don't get AD (autonomic dysreflexia {sp?}
) right away but rather a few years down the road. Check to see if your blood pressure is OK. If you keep having problems staying sitting up in your chair then you may want to talk with your Dr. about it.

Last year I scratched around half a centimenter ( yes, very small ) on my scrotum and I started sweating when I was going to my wheelchair. Once the wound was totally healed, it took another 3-4 weeks for the symptoms to totally dissapear. So probably, like wheeliebear75 says, you should try to find yourself a new sitting position or a new cushion or both ...

Thanks everyone for your replys

I'm feeling alot better now (touch wood)
Looks like my Jay cushion was getting a little old and the gel had gone off.
Since having a new Jay cushion and a little sore on my leg slowly getting better the sweating seem to have almost stopped specool.gif

Take care everyone x
