We are thinking about having a week abroad next year as i havent had a holiday for a few years and wonder if we would be able to use our direct payments to employ someone there for the week in a similar capacity to what we have here? We were thinking of france.

thanks

hi
i've only been on holiday in the uk, but i've been allowed to use my direct payments to fund my care whilst on holiday and i've been allowed to use my daycare payments to allow me to get out and about on holiday. i think it tends to vary a little from county to county, but at the end of the day surely your paying for care from your direct payments wether it be in the uk or abroad you still need the care. might just be worth checking with your local services.
