Just got back from a week in Yosemite with some amazing gimps. Women's w/c tennis champ of Northern California, double amputee who played for the US sit volleyball team in Bejing, first para and first quad to summit El Capitan, National Service Director for the VA, the executive director of Wampler Kids (google it), US Paralympic Committee member, and more! I rode hand cranks everywhere. Spotted a nice cinammon bear - about 300 pds. Ate barbecued salmon, tritip, linguini with clam sauce .... and did some rock climbing! Just wanted you guys to know that there's some fantastic stuff out there just waitin' to be grabbed. Go get it.

How did you do the rock climbing? I love to rock climb and my boyfriend and I have been told it is possible for him to do it, as well, but the only information I've been able to find is a device that will allow him to belay me (which we are thinking about but would still like to try more). I'd love to hear about your experience, and what kind of equipment you used, etc.

I am after a little bit of advice. I lost a close friend in a climbing accident recently. Climbing was his passion and his mom would like to donate money to something climbing related. As he was a physio student we thought something that offered rehab to climbers or extreme sports people in general would be a good idea. Do you know if anything like this exists? Or maybe something that gives wheelchair users the chance to get back to/ take up these sports? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
