I am a quadriplegic female with a brain stem injury. My problem is that I feel like I have to poop all the time, 24 hours a day. I am continant. It sometimes hurts and it feels like a rock is trying to come out of my rectum. In actuality, there is nothing there. It is to the point that I hardly go out anymore because I am so uncomfortable.

I have had x-rays and catscans but they all come back normal. I thought I must have been backed up but the catscan showed I have nothing there. I am having a colonoscopy this week.

Because I have a brain stem injury, it can also be neurological.

Has anybody gone through this or have any advice? Thanks

I'm not a doctor, and I don't play one on TV... but you might talk to your doctor and see if you are maybe experiencing some kind of neuropathic pain. There are many ways to deal with it, if that is in fact what you are experiencing.

I am also having same type of problem except my pain is every other day just like clockwork. It feels like a rock is trying to come out but there is nothing there. I have talked to my primary physician, gastro, and neurologist and no one came give me and answer as to what is going on. Anyone have an answer.
