What is Amyloid disease ? How can it develop in SCI and how to prevent it?

I have been doing some reading from this book titled: Medicolegal Reporting in Orthopaedic Trauma edited by Michael Foy and Phillip Fagg. Third Ed.

On page 412 it is mentioned that:

"...and there is always the risk of the patient dying of sores and the late development of amyloid disease..."

Maybe you should quit reading the medical books
Get out and enjoy life rather than worrying what may or may not happen in the future

Trinity, those were my exact thoughts when I read this post.

Popsune, it seems like almost all of your posts are worrying about what may go wrong with you in the future. I know this SCI crap is a tough knock but, try to focus on what you do have and live life to the fullest right now.... don't worry about what may happen. All of this additional stress you're putting on yourself may lead to a stroke or heat attack.
