Well not the best topic sorry but I'm in need of some advice, not sure who to talk to as I get embarrassed about personal stuff
Here goes....This last week my stools have been really soft and having to spend a lot longer on my shower chair which isn't good for yer bum! It's a work out as it is just doing normal morning routine! I manually evacuate and the looser the stools the sicker I feel, I get a kind of boking reflex! How do I go about hardening the stools preferably with out medication? I'm starting to dread getting up in the morning! And the thought of having an accident when out and about is making me anxious!
Thanks for any advice!

I should not worry too much I think you said in chat you have been on antibiotics, once they get out of your system things should return to normal.

I finished the course on Monday night, wouldn't have thought they would still be in my system? I did think that myself at first!

It takes time for things to settle down and get back to normal, the abtibiotics kill off all the bacteria, good and bad in your gut. You could try pro or pre-biotic drinks. Otherwise increasing the amount of fibre in your diet may help bulk things up a bit. A one off dose of immodium may help to just reset things although you run the risk of sending things the 'other' way, at least temporarily
hi when i drink some wine i suffer for a week after with loose stools,i eat some dark chocolate to reverse the effect! nice diet lol
Some Antibiotics will give you loose/soft stools. Next time you have to use them try eating yogurt to help keep the good bacteria in your system. For other than Antibiotics loose stools remember BRAT for your diet.
B= bananas
R= rice
A= applesauce
T= toast

Probiotics in pill form especially during a course of antibiotics prevents the loose stools because it replaces the good bacteria. Pill form of acidophilus (pro-biotic) around a few billion organisms per pill works 10x better than yoghurt...(If you can get it there)
Also cheese, bananas, rice helps to solidify. Additionally taking more vit C than the body is accustomed too can cause things to get too loose.

Women should be loose.
Men should be hard.
Feces?
Somewhere in between.
Something we should all keep in mind.

Acidophilus or pro-biotics should always be taken by everybody weather you are disabled or not. Like Trinity said, "abtibiotics kill off all the bacteria good and bad" This is why we should take acidophilus or pro-biotics as they put good bacteria back into the gut.

Somewhere on this site I've said it before ..........
1 Are your piles Ok because the mucus that comes with them softens the stools
2 Get a doctor to check your stomach muscel area for a hernia
Both those gave me problems
