My mum had a through the floor lift (Made by Wessex) installed a couple of years ago, which enabled my dad to live out the remaining years of his life at home, with some semblence of normaility.
Since my dad passed away, we have had difficulty in identifying someone who may need the useful resource of a home lift, which enables one adult/child, in a wheel chair, access to the upstairs of their own home.
Plenty of companies are more than happy to charge up to £1000 to remove thew lift, and then keep it and re sell it, but I just wanted to be able to pass it on, free of charge, to someone who may benefit from it. The only thing is, they would need to remove it, or pay to have it removed and then installed.
Does anyone know of any organisation that may benefit from this lift?
This is my first post, so I apologise if this is not the kind of post that is expected for this site.

That's a very kind gesture Paolo, I'm sure someone would love it. Its a pity I live in a bungalow...
I agree,, a generous offer. Probably best to tell everyone the general location. There is probably someone within a reasonable distance who would benefit greatly.

Our last home we had to pay to take one of these out. Couldnt find anyone who wanted it or the house with it in. It made me mad to have to pay the company again.

There is a program that recycles and exchanges equipment. Its called REEP. Their phone number is 1-800-633-4588 and the web site is http://piat.reep.ioddev.org/ Hope this is what you are looking for:)
Hi - probably a bit late to reply to this one, but if you still have it, you could try popping it on DisabledGear.com - a site I created for people in the UK to make buying and selling 2nd hand disability equipment painless. It's FREE, clear and totally user-friendly (created it to be that way so that there is now a practical alternative to always having to buy expensive & new!)
As a buyer you can search by price, distance, keyword or category & sub-category.
As a seller you can choose to keep your details hidden or shown, as initial contact can be made by direct email via the site. And to the sellers, we really really encourage you to attach photos to your FREE listings.
