Hello all!

My husband is a C6/7 Quad who works for an airline, so we like to travel a few times a year. We're hoping to catch a week in the fall, and are looking for ideas on cheap all-inclusives that you know to be accessible (Manual Chair).

We love Hawaii and Vegas (easily the most accesible holidays, always!) but we like to explore.

The last two we did were the Wyndham Playa Dorada in Puerto Plata DR and the Tesoro in Manzanillo - both were awesome but required dozens of phone calls to find and confirm all the info we were looking for.

If anyone could help contribute your experiences, we'd be happy to share ours.

Thanks for your help!

Excellence Cancun Riviera and Excellence Playa Mujeres. Both were verrrry accessible. And we used this transportation company:

http://www.cancunaccesible.com/

You can email them for info in English.

Also both of those resorts are GORGEOUS. We loved them both equally.

We have also been to Sandals in Bahamas. Only one of the restaurants had a couple steps in...so they would just bring us down a table. (it was outdoor seating anyways) And you can contact the hotel directly for transportation. They had a large shuttle.

Our next one is to Sandals Whitehouse Jamaica. I have already been doing some research on it, and it seems great for the wheelchair, and they also had transportation available.

Have fun!!!!!

i've been to The Moon Palace, Cancun, Mexico and everything is accessible except 1 bar which has 2/3 steps to negoiate. It's a very nice place and the food is lovely.

Last year I went to The Royal, Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. This place is awesome and everything was accessible. My room was large and the bathroom facilities were excellent with a full wheel-in shower. The food and drink were great and the Asian restaurant has the best sushi i've tasted. The free form pool can be accessed dependant on your mobility or how much help you are prepared to accept. I transfer onto a sunlounger with a lilo on then get people (3) to put the sunlounger in the water. I then just float around the pool. To get out of the pool I just reverse the process.

The location of the Royal is perfect as the majority of All-inculsive resorts are located several miles from tourist areas. The Royal is smack bang in the middle of Playa Del Carmen. There are loads of bars, shops and outside markets to visit if that's your thing.

One thing about this location that can not be overlooked is that the ferry to Cozumel Island is 250 metres from The Royal. There are organised trips and ferry crossings every day. You can swim with dolphins and manatees either on Cozumel or the mainland (30 minute drive). I did this on the mainland and would recommend this to everyone. A special wheelchair is provided by the facility along with all the assistance necessary. They will get you in and out of the water and help you interact with the dolphin, sealions, manatess etc.

The Royal is a children free zone as well.

I would go back tomorrow if i had the chance. this is easily the best holiday i've been on.

if you have any questions feel free to pm me.

Fantastic - this is great info; thanks all!

If you have more accessible properties, please keep them coming - I would love to have a comprehansive list of all our options! We're happy to share our experiences too.

Generally, I've found that Sandals, Riu, Barcelo, and Tesoro are excellent bets. Wyndham is touch and go, but they post all the accessiblity information right on their website - very helpful!

I look forward to hearing more stories!

Hello,

So....we have been doing a great deal of research lately and though we should share. If you do, however, have more properties to suggest, please let me know and I will add them to the list!
