Full Version: What Type Of Shirts Do You Prefer?

I've got an idea for a shirt company that I have been kicking around for a few months now. One targeted at the audience found here. Of course part of knowing your intended audience is knowing what exactly they like or in this case wear. So what type of shirts do you prefer to wear if you are going to buy one? Personally i wear T-shirts more then anything, but there then are many types of t-shirts I have found out. Tight, loose, crewneck, v-neck, normal sleeves, short sleeves, very short sleeves. Different materials that make the shirts very thick or very thin, more durable or less durable..etc.

Personally I like very soft, thin 100% organic cotton t-shirts that fit a little lose on the bottom but tight on the shoulders and arms(yes, I'm vain line that).

Shirts shown aren't what I'm wanting to sell, just the style I like.

When it comes to long sleeve shirts I like the thermal look, again loose fitting but tight around shoulders and arms in a thermal shirt type of style.

At this time those are the two styles of shirts I have planned as well as some Tank tops for the girls. I plan on using high quality organic material as I try to be a eco friendly kind of guy. The brand fits well I think and will sell in my opinion. I would buy one in a heart beat if I saw it for sell somewhere, and the few people I have spoken to said they would also, even some AB's are interested in buying a couple. Of course the first thing is finding the right logo, then finding the right manufacturer and printing company then get some shirts in stock and see how they sell locally and I'll of course make everyone on this site aware of them. If all goes well with that limited run then I'm going to have to then get a web site up and running as I don't see a store stocking these for such a small customer base. But selling t-shirts over the web seems to be the thing to do now. I have looked at places like cafeexpress where Simon has some, but I'm looking more at starting a T-shirt company then just selling some designs. I already have visions of some hats, bags, and backpacks with the design also. Of course it all seems much easier in my head then I'm sure it will be. But I'm 100% confident that my idea will sell.

So my question is what type of shirts do you like to wear most? T-Shirts, polos, tank tops, short sleeve, long sleeve, soft, coarse, thick, then, loose, tight.....any preference that you have at all. I am pretty sure of what my first run will be as it's going to be what I like to wear so that I can wear it and plan on making enough different styles and colors that i can wear my own shirts every day, but then again if no one else likes to wear the same things I do, then I'd think hard about going with something else.

Have a look at this web site. I can't provide a link to it cuz I don't know how, but here it is.

I wear heavy T-shirts cuz I use them as outer wear. If I wore them as underwear I'd want the thin ones.
At 340 plus pounds I get the 5X. A bit loose on me, but then, I'm a loose kinda guy.
The most obscene, antisocial, bad attitude is what I like. But I'm guessing you already knew that.
Oh yes, and always black.

Good info and keep em coming. Been there E-dog. I have another website in mind for making money off of all those type of T-Shirt sites that pay you for referring customers to them. Here's another one you might like. T-Shirt Hell

I don't like anything around my neck, I get claustrophobic, I like v-necks (longsleeve, short sleeve or no sleeve) I don't like anything baggy either... too much material!

Good luck!!!

I love 3 quarter length sleeves or tank tops. I had broad shoulders to begin with and after pushing a wheelchair around for a few years and doing sports I've built some muscle...not that I'm complaining. I need that extra muscle! I just try not to wear shirts that hit right across my bicep cause it makes my arms look even bigger. I like thicker cotton that's form fitting too. Hope everything works out the way you want!

If you can figure out a way for shirts not to ride up when you push and turn into a belly shirt I'll buy some from you!!! We usually try to by the tall sizes that are longer....... also, any ideas about pant? To keep them up in the back smile.gif

I like mine to be loose enough to be comfortable & I'm less likely to rip the seam around the arm-pit (happens more often when the shirt is too tight), but not "baggy".

I'm not too picky on the cut of T-shirt.

On long sleeves though a nice sturdy cuff around the wrist is pretty much a must......but the one you show has a cuff like that.

I like sarcastic & since we're all sitting in 20-30lbs of ocular magnetic alloy.......I like to have fun with the AB's.......I like to mess with them a bit. "Jesus loves you (apparently I pissed him off)" "Well aren't you special walking around all homoerctus?" "My legs don't work but my middle finger does" are probably among some of my favs. tongue.gif If they're going to stare (we all know they do) I may as well have some fun with it. ;)

That sounds a lot like my dad, which scares the hell outta me! wacko.gif

Always wear T-shirts, usually black, and since getting gimped, usually want a brest pocket

I noticed a few on here prefer tighter shirts, but that generally doesn't work for the quad population . . . .bigger bellies and all.

So, are you gonna give Simon a cut on the procedes then?--haha

I don't know......I've got kinda big-ish shoulders & triceps for a girl.....so most women's fashions end up fitting kind of tight around my upper arms & shoulders......so I'm not too big on super tight either. wink05.gif

I like loose fitting short sleeve, crew neck T-shirts, heavier thread weight. (loose so my arms don't feel pinched when I rest) I love color... pastels in the Spring/Summer, and Tans, Taupe, Black in the Fall/Winter. (Yes, I am a girlie girl.) I own a lot of T-shirts. And, I wear them as a shirt unless the Winter weather is COLD then I use them to layer. Also, a loose neck is important since I am a quad and have some difficulty getting a shirt over my head--sometimes I have to go to a V-neck. specool.gif

One more thing... If you can get PayPal set-up to purchase, I would appreciate it as an online shopper.

Loose fitting is escential for me. Not so much around the shoulders, but i have this stupid illiostomy bag that makes a shirt that's tight around the bottom a pain. Also i prefer it be long enough to cover that bag up to. Hard to pick up chicks when u got a bag half full of feces hanging out the bottom of your shirt
