I am curious to learn about some other bladder capacity's among sci peopl..

I intermittent cath, and lately been leaking at 250- 300 ml. My injury was 3 years ago, and my bladder used to hold 800-900. Its gradually decreased to the current 250-300. head_brick_wall-1.gif

thanks for any input

My maximum hold is 500, thats when I feel Im gonna burst! I havent noticed a decrease in my bladder after 4years. Maybe even an increase, as I used to get alot of spasms and that usual was around 200ml Id begin to leak, and after getting treatment for spasms I can hold more!

When I was in rehab, the nurses told me that the average for someone with an SCI is 500 cc's (about 16 oz). I don't usually measure it when I urinate, but I know that if I drink more than 16 oz I will often end up peeing my pants if I'm not careful to pay attention to how my bladder feels. I would maybe talk to a urologist about the decrease in bladder capacity, it could be something treatable.

I usually start leaking after about 500ml, but once I kept a litre in! God knows how, as soon as I moved it came out!

Most I ever cathed (that was measured) was 2400ml. That wasn't pleasent, but usually it's somewhere between 400-800ml. More if my blood sugar is high, but if that's the case i usually cath more often.

The max I've ever had is 900 cc in one cath after a few drinks (back when I was was trying to get used to managing my cathing schedual years ago.) I've never had that much since except the occasional 700 cc which usually happens when my body has been retaining water and decides to suddenly flush it. Best to avoid these high amounts but it can be tricky with a flaccid bladder and no sensation when nature is supposed to be calling.
Usual though is 300-550 cc's a cath.

The best i have ever managed is just under 200ml, any more than that i leak, yet i seem to retain about 150ml ???? I'm all confused

First cath in the morning is always 1000+. I know this because my cath kit bags only hold 1000 and sometimes it overflows.

Caths during the day are 300 to 400. Flaccid bladder just get bigger and bigger.

Problem is unless I am unwell I rarely leak. I have tried cathing in the night but this doesnt reduce the amount by that much.

I know it aint good for me.

i've measured 2300 ml. after a night of partying pretty good, couple times, but i'm normally 250-400 ml.

I must have a bladder the size of a walnut. I am usually 150-200 CC's. The catheter kit bag has the measurement on it, and after 200, I get really antsy to go. If I don't... well, I will.

At night though, I seem to hold it longer. I usually can hold 300 CC's. My pressure will wake me up after that.

My bladder is acting up right now. Used to I could hold about 900mls, but I got a UTI last month and my limit fluctuates. Sometimes I can hold 700mls, other times only 200mls. Trying to figure it out is a pain in the butt.

I don't measure mine but my limit has definitely decreased. I leak so much more than I used to. It sucks!

Dont know if this helps .. but

After several investigations and a op I now SIC
It turns out that my issue was I couldn't fully empty my bladder
Every time I went it was around 250 mls then stop
Turns out my bladder was always full but just 250 would come out
So I had a op severing all nerves around the bladder making it permenantly flaccid and started to use SIC at timed or 1 litre of beer intervals.
