So my small intestine has been sticking out of my illiostomy a good 8" most of the day. It goes in a little, then it's right out again. Any ideas?

the stoma always protrudes a bit, but it's more than usual today and the fact that i havn't passed any stool since this morning is kinda concerning. I'll be going to the hospital tonight if it doesn't improve. Doc is supposed to call me back

Ratticis finally took my advice (nagging) and got his derriere to a hospital. He got done with surgery this afternoon and is doing okay. He has tubes stuck up his nose, which is of course dead sexxay.

It never ends

It's now 12:45 in the am and they got the tube in. All kinds of crap coming out and my stomach feels way better. Just got back from x-ray and passing a little gas, which is a good sign

Well, it all starts in ottawa and continues downward on a shit slide from there until the shitalanch affects the lifes of anyone needing medical attention. The poorly staffed poorly trained healthcare system proves thay with free healthcare you get what you pay for.

hope you won't need another round of surgery.

Just an update. In case anyone still cares.
They clamped off the NG tube yesterday but I was nervous about them taking it out after how things went Saturday. This afternoon they pulled it. I'm drinking now and eating fluids. My throat hurts like hell, but things are working like they should, so things are looking up.

Well, so much for that. Was up for a while today. Then I went to get back in bed. No need to call the nurse, I've transferred thousands of times.
So somewhere between my chair and the bed I hook my foot and the chair moves and I start to go down. I grab onto the side of these lovely hospital beds, you know, where the controls are and pull myself up a bit. Once I was secure, I rang the bell and waited. While waiting, I texted my sister (lucky brat's at an ACDC concert) talked to my dad on the phone, tried pulling myself up more.
Eventually the nurse came and I got some help. By then the damn catheder that I had wanted out for 3 days was pulling like hell and the oatsmy bag came off making a big mess. Once my hips were high enough to get on the bed I was away. Made one hell of a mess and we also noticed that I had torn the fresh stitches on my stoma. Tommorow the're gunna put some fresh stitches in. *sigh* Never ends

Well they opted to let it heal on its own. The're discharging me right away, but I need to find my own way back to vermilion, about a 2 hour drive. So I'm gunna hang out with my sister for the afternoon until my dad comes through town tonight.
