I'm considering buying some portable hand controls so that there won't be any issues when hiring a car. I've heard about Lynx hand controls (http://www.lynxcontrols.com/) and was wondering if anyone has any experience with these. In particular will car rental places allow you to use them and will you be covered by insurance?

Many thanks for any comments

Never tried them, but the PHC work well and do not require you to use your thumb,

You can find them here

Many car rental places will provide the Lynx controls. Ask them.
