I have been sent some Coloplast Folysil X-tra catheters for when I go on holiday for the flight, no instructions. How do I lube these babies? Are they hydrophilic or do I use lubricating jelly?

I may be wrong and Im sure someone will correct me but I think all coloplast stuff is hydrophilic. Certainly the ones I have used by them are.

The polymer absorbs and binds water to the catheter, resulting in a thick, smooth and slippery surface. The coating layer remains intact upon introduction into the urethra and ensures lubrication of the urethra in its entire length. The catheters have been shown to lead to better patient satisfaction with the technique and are assumed to reduce the risk of urethral damage by decreasing the friction exerted when the catheter is inserted and withdrawn. Hi,
Folysil X-tra is 100% silicone catheter (for indwelling use upto 12 weeks) & should have been supplied with two syringe, one with sterile water for balloon inflation & an empty one for deflation.

Any water based lube can be use (KY) or use instillergel (from Doctor).
