Hi Lucydog,

I've been using the Direct Payments system for years. I employ my own Carers and find it much better than Agency Care, as the Agencies take a huge slice of money.

I get my Public Liability Insurance from a Specialist Company and pay for it using money from my Care Account, its fine to do that as its part of your care.

I use Fish Insurance here is their website link, http://www.fishinsurance.co.uk/

I hope this has been of help. Just make sure you keep good records, it doesn't take a lot of effort, and I find it helps to keep hard copies of everything in case someone what's to see them.

Good luck

Mike

Remember that it gets paid out of the DP in case they try it on!

Doesn't your county have a DP support service?
