Full Version: Fluid At Base Of Spine?
Quadriplegic & Paraplegic Spinal Cord Injuries > Disabled Living & Spinal Cord Injuries > Spinal Cord Injury Health Issues
Ben
I asked this question before but can't find the post. I have had this sweating problem for a few years and it started as a sweaty left foot. Then it was a sweaty left leg and now it's everything from the waist down. After asking for two years for an mri i finally got one and they say I have fluid at the base of my spine and it may be whats bringing on the sweaty stuff. i'm on these patches that slow it down but not take it away. what happens is, i can get up and the pressure on the spine or nerves starts too make me sweat. Thgen after a hour or so they go away. Until I lay down and get back up. It happens when i lay down but only on my back. i'm supposed too see a neuroligist but when I don't know. It's been 3-4 month already. Anyway, has anyone had this? They say it is common but haven't seen anyone with it on here. I'm hopeing they stab me with a big needle and suck it out. If I had too do that i'd go back every year if I had too. Also, i'm sick of the patch. It's makeing me shrink from the waist down too. i have muscle loss and that ones a big weird thing all by itself. a boney ass is not the thing too have in the chair! The patches are called Transderm-V scopolamine. Look it up, I've had all the side effects. I think. Haven't startd seeing things yet though.

Hey Ben,
I'm glad they found your problem . . . .'bout time!
Why are you waiting for someone to send you to a Neurologist? You have to be proactive when it comes to your own care. Don't WAIT for someone to guide you through your issues.

Go to your primary doctor and request an appointment for the Neuro NOW!

I have the appointment. I'm just waiting on them. I was told they aren't very busy but that must mean that he's on a holiday all summer long and then they have too play catchup when they get back. I'm thinking november.
