We all have those days but how do we not let them take over our life? This chair has been with me since I was five and i've never been one to get to down but in the last couple months i've been seeing more bad days then before, i'm talking maybe two a month. I really have no reason to be down I have a great family and friends and a Girlfriend I love more then anything, my Girlfriend spent five days in the hospital and I could bearly pull my self out of bed. Her being in and out of the hospital is just going to be something for me to get use to, it's who she is and been part of her life since the day she came in to this world. I was in a God awful mood the other day and snapped at her, she told me I don't think so just becaue you're in a chair does not give you the reason to be a jackass and she is very right. What helps you get threw those days with out loosing it with the ones you love?

For me is full time job! Work therapy helps me the most. There is always something to do, so if you are able to do any work, go on, set the goal/s for yourself for each and every day!

Get out of the house, get involved in activities, meet people, find a hobby. In short dont be stuck at home/pub all the time smile.gif
I feel down when I have nothing special to do. Work keeps me busy during week days, week end generally go to country parks, play badminton, help wife do house chores etc.

Hang in there Blake, it must be really hard for ya to be temp...seperated from someone you love,it sounds like your girlfriend must be going through a hard time to,hope she is ok.I know sometimes I get so focused on my on trials that I tend to take it out on everybody that I care about, this is when I know I should back upand try to consider there feelings, sometimes its easy and sometimes its very hard, you may already be aware of this,I just wanted to let you know that I understand what you are going through and give you a vote of confidence.Great advice that Denny and Yasko gives,Ican say that when I lay around and tend to do not much of anything its then when things start to pile up on me. Hang in there bud angel_not.gif

It will all be ok. Just a blending of normal teenage problems mixed with a wheelchair and sick girlfriend. She'll be fine, she may be small but stronger then people 4 times her size. She tells me don't worry till I tell you it's time to worry, she say's she was put here to prove Doctors wrong

Wow 13?!?!? You're only a couple years older than my youngest kid. lmasso.gif

You know being a teenager before during & after my accident; I can say that being a teenager in and of itself can be difficult. Every teenager thinks their life sucks & for far pettier reasons than what you've got on your plate; but being able to recognize that you're taking your bad day out on the people who love you most is more than a lot of teens can do with the "normal teen stuff". cheers.gif The fact that you recognize it, & want to not take it out on your loved ones is the biggest element, other than that my suggestion (on top of the others' suggestions) is just to learn to recognize what puts you in a bad mood; if it's pain than at least just letting those closest to you know "hey I'm in some physical pain & so if I get snappy or short with you I'm apologizing up-front"......it's what I do. cool.gif

I do need to be more up-front about when i'm in pain but frineds don't really get it I think. I lash out at Talia(my girlfriend) because I know she'll put me in my place, she doesn't take anything from anyone.
