Ok,I know that some of us have come to a time of desperation,Ijust wanted to ask a question, when you gotten to a point to where you think....Icant take this pain any more and you go to the EM room,is there any procedure that they might have done that eased your symptoms, and what Imean by symptoms is intense burning in the waist, groan, rectom, and both legs plus intense numbness and pressure.I have all of these and just keep getting worse,Imean to the point that I can't focus on any thing else,it has totaly ruined my social life, and now has impacted my marriage, yes my wife is my caregiver.maybe I should just go to get my answer but I know I would be there three plus hours. My pain management doctors seem to take forever, everytime they try something different it is at least three to four months apart and one time it was at least six mouths, the last time I went with these symptoms they said they would schedule a mri and that has been amonth ago,I just dont know how much longer I can take it...[stinkin thinkingya know].any experences would be greatly appreceated.
Thanks in advance.Terry..aka dentine 08 doctor.gif

For this kinda stuff the ER is just a waste of their time and your money.

The subject of pain though has been discussed in depth on other threads and many people have gone through similar things.

but for a jump start a few ideas might be

1 You can get a lot of info from a search or two through the archives, Knowledge is definitley one of the best things to take with you to the doctors office! Find out what has worked and failed for others and try to find out what resembles your situation. Most people would probably be glad to personally share with you if you have similar conditions so if you find someone in your quest...just ask.

2 Unless they're doing you really good for you forget the pain management clinic and find yourself a normal GP, one where you can see the same person every time and they may even remember your name. I personally have experienced younger doctors to be more willing to stay open minded and maybe even do a little research about a "new to them" situation. Seeing that your condition is "new" your doc will be glad to investigate and apply the vast knowledge you will gain from the many posts on here.

3 Have patience and pay attention to ALL benefits and side effects of the meds you use. high doses of nerve meds can sometimes have hard to notices ones. Such as dwelling on the stinkinthinkin (a phrase I used to use oddly enough) and other harder to see from the inside symptoms. Maybe have a serious talk with your wife asking if she has noticed any, and even if she hasn't understanding a bit never hurts.

4 MOST IMPORTANTLY don't take my word for it! Look around and find out whats right for you to do.
