Hi everyone,

I am after a little bit of advice. I lost a close friend in a climbing accident recently. Climbing was his passion and his mom would like to donate money to something climbing related. As he was a physio student we thought something that offered rehab to climbers or extreme sports people in general would be a good idea. Does anyone know if anything like this exists in the UK? Or maybe something that gives wheelchair users the chance to get back to/ take up these sports, climbing especially? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much

Lan,

Where are you based? Not sure about climbing specific charities, but in the UK Back Up is very good for getting spinally-injured up and about again.

Lan,
I think thats an excellent idea you have. If you say where you are from then you may get appropriate advice, everythings different country to country. As Ralph said in the uk there is Back Up Trust, maybe worth a look and perhaps contact them for some ideas and advice. http://www.backuptrust.org.uk/
Good Luck!

Thank you I have added Back up to the list I am compiling for Steve's mom to choose from. We are in the UK, Steve grew up in Gloucester and studied in Bristol so South West preferably but any UK based charity would be good.

Thanks
