Well, just over a year ago I got referred to the Specialist Disability Unit at the Nuffield in Oxford to have a postural assessment so they could set me up with a better wheelchair as my kyphoscoliosis had worsened quite dramatically following my second spinal fusion. I finally got the support on Wednesday and have had a horrible couple of days with it. I've felt that, while I have actually been sitting up straight i.e it was supporting me laterally, I've been bent forward and my right hip and ribs have been hurting alot.
I was given a J2 cushion to sit on instead of the Vicair I've been using for years but I've found it's extremely bucketed and the reason I was all squished and also couldn't get the momentum to push up even the smallest slopes. So-I've switched back to my Vicair and am much more comfortable.
Anyway-the reason for my ramblings (sorry this has turned into a long post is: Does anyone know of a cushion that's as supportive as the J2 (mainly for my legs that flop all over the place) but is not bucketed and as comfortable as a Vicair?!
Any opinions and ideas greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
