1) There are no decent ones locally
2) I know I'll get bored to tears cos I'd rather be outdoors and the chances of me quitting would be high.
What I'm doing now is pushing myself *all* the time when I'm outdoors unless the terrain is extremely difficult (my garden is half an acre and I can cope well with that). We also have a nice circuit on my campus (just around the grounds) so I am doing that at lunch times and I'll build the number of circuits I do as I get stronger.
I've also discovered that Google Maps is my friend. I was in town yesterday and it enabled me to work out I'd pushed half a mile
Diet wise, mine has always been pretty healthy so I'm just needing to make small changes (not having a massively sweet tooth helps a lot in that department).
Oh yes, and I've signed up for fencing lessons.
