Yes I did and bought a 'Pain Pen', which I found worked well, especially at night. I also started taking Gabapentin, which has benefited me greatly, but it doesn't always work for some people, or they have side effects.

Yes I get that in my right leg i suppose due to the lower lumbar region? It starts in behind and goes into foot comes and goes etc. Hope its not an indication of yet more issues lol! Do you think yours is due to lumbar issues as I notice you have cervical probs like me! Does anyone know can having cervical issues put more pressure so to speak on the lumbar region hence sciatica etc? Due to Sribblers recommendation I am awaiting the arrival of my pain pen!

Yup.
I found swearing helped.

My pain pen is similar to a tens machine in that it gives small electric shock's. I get my PA to give 15 shock's at the top of my buttock then slowly work her way down the root of the pain until she reaches my ankle. I've always found the ankle is important to zap in the right area; don't ask me why but maybe its due to me having full feeling.

I put my pain down to me being injured so long and having a crumbling spine. Mine is also in my right leg. Anyone got a good right leg they want to swap? mfr_lol.gif

I hope it works, otherwise swear like Clara, but she can swear like a Trouper.... smile.gif

For me I find above my left buttock just above where the pain starts and a few cm under the crease of aforementioned buttock on the rear of my thigh following the line of the pain. It's all hit and miss and some times takes a while to get the right spot. I did try with four pads with the other two lower down my leg again following the line of the pain (above the knee and above the ankle) and had to tape down the wires as I got rather tangled but this didn't make much difference.

I also found short sharp shocks (my TENS has many settings to play with!) helped best.

Just a word of caution regarding the Pain Pen. I bought one a month or so ago and paid about £30 for it, which I thought was a trifle excessive for what is essentially a slightly re-worked pieizo-electric gas lighter, but today I saw one on-line offered for £109.99 !!!!! Yep, £80 more. So shop around, folks, and avoid THIS outfit.

Incidentally, it has helped for shoulder, elbow and hand pain. It worked less well for my sciatic pain. I guess my bits are too deeply buried. tongue.gif

Oh yeah.....more as I've gotten older. In right buttock at sciatic foramina, especially if I entertain erotic thoughts. A real pain in the ass on the rare occasion I stumble into that situation. Also along the L-2 dermatome margins. Swearing, pinching my earlobe, beating my thigh where it hurts, biting my lip are some of the distractions I use.

Check the link in my post above. It takes you straight to one - but don't buy at that price! Shop around.

I also used to sit and beat my thigh due to the excruciating pain.. I couldn't beat the wife; she was too strong for me.. smile.gif
