Hi guys.. I had a dr visit today to have xrays and ultra sounds done on my bladder and kidneys this morning. Iwas told not to eat or drink anything the night before after 12am. So after the ultra sound was done the nurse told me that i had 360cc's in my bladder, I use a condom catheter and i urine on my own ..but i had not yet peed this morning . I have never had any bladder issues and out of the 13 years ive been hurt i mightve had 6 or 7 bladder infections. Is 360ccs to much to be holding in your bladder. My urologist will read the results but im a little nervous and anxious to know what he will tell me or suggest to me. Can anyone give me a little insite on this

I'm used to working in the metric system so correct me if I'm wrong but I think cc's is equivalent to ml's.
I have always been told that the fluid volume at which A B"s feel the need to pee is 500 ml. Thats the normal amount for just about everyone.
I get a feeling of subtle AD when my bladder is about 500 ml full, so when I feel that I cath. Feeling when you need to go is very handy and I hope it lasts.
Anything over 500 ml and the bladder is beginning to be put under too much pressure.
So at 360 you shouldn't have to worry too much.
Hope this helps, but ask your urologist , don't take the word of this ol' cripple.

Hi
If you normally have a drink in the morning and then void ok, then it sounds like a one off. I have had numerous infections over the last 12 months as my bladder has started retaining alot. I am 9yrs post injury and have always used conveens no problems but my spinal consultant has told me that with time the bladder functioning can change. It looks like I may have to go down the SP route soon unfortunately.

350 cc is about when an AB would feel the urge to go to the bathroom (according to my Dr.). I have a flaccid bladder and go over 350 all the time. I try to keep it below 400, but on occasion have gone over 700 without an issue (although I don't recommend it). I wouldn't worry about it. It seems to me that someone with a reflex bladder recently posted that they didn't go until they were over 400.
edit: Yeah,
here it is.
