O hai!

Would anyone be interested in doing a loosely organized book club? I'm starting in on Barbara Ehrenreich's book "Bright Sided - How the Relentless Promotion of Positive Thinking Has Undermined America". Book looks like this:

I adored 'Nickeled and Dimed', and I find her writing very approachable and she gives a good viewpoint. Plus, her interview on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart hooked me in.

Hmmm... I can't embed a non-YouTube vid, so here is the link to the video.

Anyway, wanted to know if there was any interest in discussion with this book. I think it might bring in some interesting viewpoints that us as a group would be interested in? Anyway. Trying to keep the brain sharp. smile.gif

Sara, realism...is it okay to be sad, happy, numb, disconnected, confused, angry, passionate, positive, etc...to feel.

I would be honored to join you in this discussion, journey, discovery...off to Amazon I go, seems there is a book awaiting my purchase. BTW, I started a book thread awhile back, it's in the Cafe as well, see the link below.

I like Ehrenreich from when I used to read her columns many many years ago. I'm in, but need a deadline or timeline cuz many things compete for scant energy. The topic sounds VERY interesting.

I've been interested in that book ever since I saw her on the Daily Show. Let me know what you think of it.
