this will be my first time skiing at Winter park and was just wanting any ones adzise on what they found was the best hotel for the money, being a wheelchair user and getting to the slopes at Winter Park, Colorado, USA . any info would be good. places you have found good or place not to stay

i don't know if you're in colorado or not, but winter park is the state handicapped skiing place here. therefore, if you can find a hotel that isn't accessible, i'd be highly surprised. i haven't been in years so i really have no idea which one is most economical, but everything in the mountains is much more expensive. if you're in colorado, call craig hospital's recreation department--they should have tons of information. the main # is 303-789-8000.

I've always stayed in the best western - nice adapted rooms, good value and an accessible hot tub (if you don't count a single step up to get in) - transport to the ski centre via the free para transit system of adapted buses available on call.

Do you have knobby tires on your chair? If not, I highly suggest you get some because you'll need them in the deep snow on the ski hill. Sportaid.com sells them. Winter Park has an adaptive ski program right? Are you skiing on your own or with their program?
