I know this is a common problems for us quads. over the past week i have been feeling light headed, haven't had symptoms of passing out but i feel like my pressure is low. i checked it and it was 118/86 which seems normal but i think it is normally higher. i have my normal stuff like my stockings, binder, and i take my bp meds twice a day. i don't understand what could be wrong, eventhough i understand the body of an injured person can change over time. as a side note my spasms have increased a little bit to within a week. I was also wondering if anyone else experiences an amount of dysreflexia associated with their bowel program, which this week for me includes a small amount of continued dysreflexia when i'm finished.
to all that read this i appreciate it

Hell, mine's been 86/58 since my SCI........
Most doctors and nurses look at me as if I'm really breathing.....
Never wore those damn stockings......

Jim,
Mines about that too, and lately even lower. Now I'm on Fludrocortisonedue to my increasing issues, and that's brought it back to 120/70.
Machine, I notice when I do my Bowel Program, my blood pressure goes down, probably from sittin in that uncomfotable commode chair for 1 and a half hours straight. Now I do more chair pushups during the BP, and no more light headedness.
I also get light headed sometimes right after a meal, from the blood rushing to my stomach to digest the food. It usually goes away after a few minutes. But, those are normal occurances.
I'm not sure why you would be having these issues all of a sudden, especially AD. Also, keep a look out for other symptoms.

Mine tends to hover around 95/55 level, but I had low blood pressure even before my SCI.

lol mines that low too and sometimes even lower where their bp cuff errors out. The nurses give me that crazy look.
I get light headed a lot to the point of passing out after eating. I lost 30 pounds last year after being sick with the flu and have a chair that leans back that gets my legs up. I had to quit eating lunch due to getting extremely sleepy or light headed. My doc doesn't want me on bp pills because of fears of it going to high but wanted me to excersise. i'm a c-5-6 quad so the only thing i can do is arm aerobics. that seems to help.
