However 5 weeks ago I felt really different..no energy or urge to eat or do anything..completely out of character for me and after no improvement after 3 courses of antibiotics was admitted to hospital and have just finished a course of I V antibiotics 3 times a day for the past 2 weeks... result of last urine test was pseudomonas..Anybody else have a similar experience?

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear about the problems you're having. I'm having similar issues. I seem to have a permenant UTI and it's really getting me down now. I've got a referral to a urologist yesterday so hopefullt something useful will come of it.

I hope you're feeling better now x

Sorry to hear of the troubles. I may or may not have a similar issue. Are you getting a copy of the lab reports? Did they do "sensitivity testing before giving you the antibiotic? We need to watchdog our care because we are the ones who pay when a bacteria in residence becomes antibiotic resistant. At that point there is little the MDs can do beyond nearly kill us with antibiotics. Try consulting a chinese herbalist for an approach that skirts the resistance issue.

In addition, do everything you can think of to support your immune system. Antibiotics degrade it. Probiotics build it. In particular, lactobaccilis GG and Saccharomyces boularrdii.

i have seud colonization in bladder also...it'll never go totally go off the cult report...if they aren't reading the bacteria ratio as well as just whats there, they very well could have over treated you....for 18 months in ft worth, they tried everything in the pharmacy to kill my bact and i never stopped feeling like crap...too many antibiotics....got to colorado, and new doc said lets give your body a break and culture in 60 days...we did and not only did i feel better, but bact maintained colonization ratio and calmed way down...pseud will show up on your ua's forever, but only treat if ratio is above colonization numbers

partygirl said this in another thread...much simpler explanation :

I am t7 from transverse myelitis, been in the chair 2 years. I have a supra pubic catheter.
I wonder why you describe cloudy urine as a full blown UTI. Unless you have symptoms, eg: fever, chills, vomiting etc, the SCI specialists say it's just colonisation of bacteria in your urine and does not require treatment. They do not recommend prophylactic use of antibiotics as you develop resistant strains of bugs.
Take Vitamin C tabs 1000mg twice daily, it will help keep you and your urine healthy.

Thanks for all your replies. I started off with a chest infection , the second urine report showed pseudo and the sensitivity.....I hate taking antibiotics and think I've been way over treated....though it is great to feel somewhat human again and have a bit of an appetite back!!

Hope you get sorted out soon ....A B

Chinese herbs..great idea..hadn't thought of that, thanks
