Currently, I'm on a low dose of Baclofen - 10mg 3x a day. My Physiologist, who originally prescribed it, told me that if I needed to increase my dosage to cut the pills in half and take essentially 15mg x3. Usually, the only time I have problems with spasms is during the night, and it's only occasional. So I asked my GP about increasing my dosage just at night and he cautioned me not to make a habit of it.

So, my dilemma is this, I don't want to increase any more that necessary because of my current financial situation. I'm wondering if it's okay to take 10mg during the day and 15mg at night on a regular basis, or just take another 10mg whenever it bothers me?

My Dr. says to take whatever works for me. He tells me to just try different things until I find the schedule that works for me.

Oh I don't know.
You could always try PRAYER! Maybe beat yer legs into submission with a Bible.

Just a joke Kwagski, don't get pissed.
I take 20mg twice daily. I guess it helps some, hard to tell. Marijuana may help a little. If nothing else it makes them a bit less noticeable.
Try it. Some of us swear by it.

I have been playing with the amount of baclofen that I have been taking also, I have increased and it has given me a fair amount of relief. They say you dont have to worry till you are nearing 100mg a day, then something has to give. I guess the least amount is best but dont suffer.

God ain't Santa Claus. Plus, hitting my legs could cause a blood clot, not to mention the fact that my bible is nearly falling apart from wear, so using it in that manner may just do it in.

Aside from the legal ramifications, I've heard that it causes the deterioration of brain cells and I'm not sure I have any to spare. But thx for your post. Knowing that you use marijuana explains a lot.

It is perfectly ok to take extra at night, that is exactly what I do. I would suggest trying an extra 5 or 10mg for a bit and see if you get any improvement.

It makes much more sense imo to increase the dose to cover the time of day when they are most troublesome.

Thx Trin. I think I'm going to try taking my mid-day dose later in the afternoon. I've noticed that the times I miss a dose I usually start having spasms about 11 or 12 hours after my last dose. So, if I take my mid-day 10 hours after my morning dose, then another at bed time I'll have a double-dose through most of the night.

I'm just concerned about experimenting with this stuff. But I'm getting the impression from all of you that, since my dosage is so low, it shouldn't be an issue.

My doctor told me I could experiment with it, and it was fine to take more before bed if it helped me sleep. I was on 20mg 4x daily and would take 25mg before bed (my last dose of the day). It seemed to help me sleep better, and it especially helped my bladder at night.

I've been off the baclofen for a year or so now, and I hardly ever sleep for more than 3 hours at a time before a spasm wakes my bladder up.
