Im going to a friends 21st next weekend, the main party is on the saturday night! But his close friends have been invited to a suprise party on the Friday night, and His mum is arranging or has arranged for us to have a limo for an hour, it's supposed be a hummer limo but if not then a normal one. I was just wondering how I could go about getting to it? (Im sure I will get a lifted in if i cant transfer, but not sure how easy that will be either) Ive never been in a limo before pre injury or post. Not sure what the set up is like inside? I'm just curious if anyone has been in one before hummer or not?! Any experiences whether your SCI or not.

For my eighth grade graduation, I rode in a hummer limo. It was amazing.
It isn't that hard getting into if youre being picked up. Usually there is a small seat in the back, then the two long ones on the sides. I was able to be transferred onto the back seat, then I transferred myself to one of the seats on the side.

These things are friggin awesome!!!!!
We got one for a mates 20th last Saturday Night. Had a blast. Lucky for me, I get into raised 4x4s all the time. Difference was that the door is a lot small as it is a back door, which made it hard to swing me back end around. I ended up transfer on the floor of the Stretch Hummer and was fine after that as I could move around to all the seat. Only thing I can suggest is not to use the long side seats if you have no trunk control. I spent most of the time trying to hold myself up and there is nothing to grab onto, spent a lot of time falling over until I went pimp and had 2 of the girls sit either side of me.
It may take you a while to get in and out but it is well worth it. Just make sure the Limo isn't too full as your wheelchair will end up going in the back with you as there is no where else to put it.

Its definately a stretch hummer! I spoke to my friends mum, and she gave me the companys website so will take a look! I think it will be fine, I will probably transfer onto the floor and then onto one of the seats! If not then Ill a lift! I was just a bit nervous about it, i do have a some trunk control, will wait and see how I get on!
