I was doing research on different tea's that promote weight loss and health and found that there have been studies relating green tea and oolong tea to weight loss. Oolong was more impressive at helping to stop insulin increases. I bought some hoping to try it.
My problem is that since my accident I have gained alot of new muscle in my upper body but also gained fat in my mid section. I no longer can zip up my pants over my diapers. Since cardio is not really an option since you'd have to work for hours a day to make a difference I am tring to diet and watch what I drink. I still have not gotten the results I want to have. I refuse to give up and let the weight consume me.

Has anyone else tried to use these teas and has it helped?
They are now marketing this tea under the name Wu-Long, even though Oolong and Wu-Long are the same thing.

Please let me know, I'll also keep you posted on my progress since they claim you will loose 10 pounds in 2 weeks on this tea if you drink it after 2 meals.

It would be fair to say that you couldn't expect to lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks if you are a paraplegic or quadraplegic due to the lack of movement/exercise. I am a C4 quad and cannot move at all, not even any arm movement. I felt the same way about myself so I put myself on a diet about 10 years ago. My spinal Doctor said that I would never lose but with allot of persistence I lost 28 kilos or 60 pounds in 18 months. I lost all my weight by eating 1 meal a day and drinking between 2 to 3 litres or half a gallon to three quarters of a gallon of water each day. NO other drinks apart from water. My meals were all GRILLED with NO oil's or butter at all. I only grilled chicken breast or fish with some seasons, once cooked I would use fresh lemon juice on both my chicken breast or fish. I also had someone slice 1 potato in very thin slices about 3 milometer's or 1/8th of a inch thick then lay them out on a pan with non stick paper until one side is cooked then turn them over and let that side cook, after its cooked drizzle some lemon juice over the potato slices and they taste awesome, but NO salt. I also had boiled vegetables with my meal each night, great news is as much vegetables as you wish, just don't put any sauce's on them at all. If you choose to have salad that's also great and as a vinaigrette mix lemon juice, balsamic vinegar and a crushed clove of garlic and poor as much as you desire on your salad.
As for the (tea) I didn't use any tea's but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt. It's extremely crucial to not eat ANY cheese or bread as the grilled potato is a carbohydrate in itself.
It's not easy especially in the beginning because your only eating 1 meal a day, so it will take a month or a few months to shrink your stomach. To get over the hunger pains especially in the beginning eat rice crackers that are plain without any flavouring at all. To be honest im not sure if they are called rice crackers, the things im talking about are very light, and have some type of puffed rice or wheat. They are approximately 10 centimetres or 4 inches in diameter and approximately 1 centimetre thick or a little under half inch thick. They are great to snack on providing you do NOT put anything on them. If you follow this I guarantee you will lose the weight FAST. GOOD LUCK WITH WHAT EVER YOU TRY. cheers.gif

Thanks wheels 1974 for those tips.

Did you find that with 1 meal a day your metabolism got a lot slower, and what about your bowl routine - did you just eat carrots & cabbage to keep you going so to speak? lol!

Like a lot of long timers (especially the ladies) I have too much weight on me especially around the middle but even on 1000 calories a day I don't loose weight. I think it would be dangerous to eat less than that a day as I want to keep fit & well & my skin to be good.

Anyway, I'm dieting now with my hubby. Last night he did a fab chick pea curry with wilted spinach - perhaps we should all share low fat recipies here!!

Take care

I just drink a lot of it, rooibos and green teas. Nothing to do with health. That they are good for me is a great side-effect.

If you're watching carbs, wouldn't the cracker-things you mentioned not exactly be the best option?
