After seeing Matty and Ricky riding on 2 wheels again i just had to give it a go. I've been riding a Raptor till now thinking it was the only way to fulfill my dirt bike needs. A few months ago a started riding my mates 2 wheelers and last week i bought one of my own. Im now in the process of setting it up like Ricky's with bar work and kart seat.

Anyways heres a quick vid of my first few rides smile.gif

Marcel,
That video was sweeet!! I could almost see the smile under your helmet.

the kart seat is going to help a lot. We need to get your shifter going and a handle bar mounted rear brake and look out you'll be ripping it up.

Keep us posted as it progresses,

Rick Sr.

wow! can't wait to be able to make a video of me getting back into something I love!

you guys are great! even though I would have thought it best to wait for the bike set-up to be ready. smile.gif

Haha, yer i should have waited but it was sitting in the shed saying brap brap ride me smile.gif

Wont be riding it again till its all finished though. Took the bike to my mates metal work shop on Saturday and did the bar work. It turned out pretty good, the mounting points were not as easy as on the CRF, we sat and scratched our heads for most of the day but ended up with something good.

I have the seat together too, now all i have to do is get the seat upholstered, put on some foot plates and buy some final nuts and bolts.... Oh and sort the gear shifter and rear brake.

I will post some pics when its all finished.

Question for Rick, how does Ricky get on the bike now with the bar work and seat? I used to be able to get on with just one person holding the bike but with the bars in the way and seat someone pretty much has to lift me up there. im hoping with a good technique and practice i'll be able to get up on my own again.

I understand you completely... my car does the same but being quadraplegic allows me to do zero!
I'm shocked I haven't gone crazy yet!

Damn that sux.... I have an idea for you though... How about a co driver in some local tarmac rally events? Recon that would be a buzz and with good seating and harness it shouldn't be a problem.

Awesome, cant wait to see the vids mate. Im really pushing to get my bike finished before you come over but the guy doing the bar work is really over it, he thought it was going to be a 2 hour job but we spent like 7 hours on it on Saturday!!! Im going to try and finish it off with Beno's help and a stick welder unsure.gif Taking the seat in to get upholstered Tomorrow. Probably wont have gears by then though.

Hurry up and get over here so we can moto!!

I've looked into it but here there are rules for navigating in a rally that automatically count me out. I've got proper harnesses and stuff in my car so I've been a passenger in her on track (first time only 4 months after my accident and against my doctors orders) but its not good enough! I will drive her again but at the moment I don't have the strength.

I'm looking into getting a go-kart and modding it so I can use it. From that I then hope to move to driving an automatic car and then my baby on track!

Getting back on topic... don't rush things on your protections now... you are so close!

I'm in the usual chair, yourself?
I've been looking into doing it in Italy...
Practically I have to be able to undo the harnesses and get out of the car all on my own in I don't remember how many seconds... oh, and the car is upside down!

p.s. sorry Roooost for writing about my stuff on your topic, hope you don't mind unsure.gif
