Well things are finally coming together, ive got the seat and bar work done on my YZ125, i've been riding nearly every day and im starting to get the hang of things. Even did my first jumps on the weekend and its awesome. Anyone riding a quad should try this, i was jumping the YZ 3 times as big as my quad and it didnt even hurt. Jumping half that distance on my quad would have killed on landing.

I've had a few stacks and the bar work is holding up well so far though im still stuck in 2nd gear.

I have ordered a new stator with a lighting coil to give me power for the gear shifter (motocross bike has no battery system) I'll be using an air shifter which i'll hopefully have setup in a few weeks from now.

I didnt get any video from my jumps unfortunately but once the gears are done i'll make a vid and post some more pics. For now below are some pics of the bike so far.

Looking good Marcel but the seat bolts look like they could pose a problem. Everything else looks functionalble.

Yes, that would be asking for a nasty pressure sore... There is another part to the seat that is not shown, its another small cushion that attaches to the velcro on the seat which coverer's the screws. Have done some longer riding sessions and no red spots on my ass so far smile.gif

Yeah, its all washed and ready for the gear changer (well if i can keep my self from riding it this weekend). Got my lighting coil the other day and Saf reckons he'll get the shifter next week for me smile.gif

Always a pleasure to have yas over! I really enjoyed the challenge of goin for a ride with no able bodies, not something id want to do every time but it was great to see that with a bit of thought it could be done.

Lookin forward to meeting Ben net time yous come over, well have to find a better place to ride this time. Let us know what u think of the CRF250X

Roost, I'm a X pro from the 80s. I saw the Rck James vidio on Utube, it gave me a breath of life. I want to ride, race again. Can you fill me in on where you got your seat, I have the rest figured out. Help me out man. If you have found any unforseen problems fill me in.

No, That isn't David Bailey. David lives in California and Marcel is this guys name. David doesn't own a bike to my knowledge. He did ride Ricky James' bike though.

Hey Mate,

All i did for the seat was cut the bottom off a go kart seat then take off the YZ seat cover and cut a section out of the foam to slot the kart seat in... then just drill some holes and screw it together. I took it to an upholsterer to get the whole thing padded and re covered.

There is a lot of pics and info on this thread...
