For many years, I have tried to find campsites where I could share the outdoors with my family. However, I usually run into problems with access or insurance issues when it came to participating in any of the planned activities. For those of you like me, you may want to check out National Sports Center for the Disabled located in Colorado. They have Summer Programs geared for families like ours. They have accessible cabins and accessible activities at reasonable rates. So look them up this year for a camp you will all enjoy. www.nscd.org

Hi there, good to see there are some other keen campers around. My partner is a quad and has been for some 20 odd yrs and he absolutely loves camping. He does the real camping, no caravan parks for him, and definately no power lol. We camp in national parks etc where it is free to stay. We have tents for the kids and a small camper trailer for us and we made some metal ramps to get his wheel chair into the camper and then he pulls himself up onto the bed from there. He uses mountain bike type wheels on his manual wheelchair to get around the place to make it easy by gripping better, we do however try to find some flatter areas to camp. We also get him into the dingy placing a chair in it, stablilized and he sits in there and does his fishing etc. Where there is a will there is a way!! He is away at the moment camping with his dad has been out bush for over a week now and enjoying every minute of it even in the pouring rain trying to get a fire going lol rather him than me in this weather at the moment (we are heading towards winter here) Good luck to all those that read your posts on finding somewhere and if they are ever over in oz give me a yell and i will tell them some good camping spots.
