The Poll now works smile.gif

As the system only allows 20 options per question, I've had to double up on the levels.

just so you guys know why i put myself as a C1-C2 i do not have spinal cord inury but i definitely have damage cellularly across my brain and spinal cord which affects motor neurons, it is progressive... so i like to call myself a C0-S5 complete lol, because by the time the disease is done with me there will be no motor neurons left!
Ches
Alin that certainly does count buddy, damn right. I thought about options like your situation when I was making this little poll. But the reality of it is, this is a highly scientific research study taking place. See, I noticed a bunch of injuries around the level of C5 on here. I dont know why but stats have always fascinated me. Although I believe 80% of stats to be wrong?? Anyways after writing up a ton of paperwork, theories, and such I had to convince the Grand Piggy Bank to loan me some change. My approach was good, I was successful. I will soon have all the info I need to sleep better at night now.
Again my apologies for not having more options on my poll, but I hope you understand the importance of it now!

P.S.
I dont smoke crack!

I wish there was a way to know the level of injury of each person you talk to without posting it over & over. (those that wanted others to know)

like in the avatar area or signature area

This facility is already available in members profiles, for adding a signature, level of injury, and geographical location, but people don't use it. sad.gif

Sorry Simon, I edited my page w/o realizing you quoted me.
As soon as I posted that, I looked at the avatar on the other members posts,
and saw the information was there.
Then I felt dumb and edited my post.

Thanks so much for helping me.

Ches,

You might find this interesting then:

Since 2000, the most frequent neurologic category at discharge of persons reported is incomplete tetraplegia (34.1%), followed by complete paraplegia (23.0%), complete tetraplegia (18.3%), and incomplete paraplegia (18.5%). Less than 1% of persons experienced complete neurologic recovery by hospital discharge. Over time, the percentage of persons with incomplete tetraplegia has increased slightly while both complete paraplegia and complete tetraplegia have decreased slightly.

I've attached further stats below as a pdf file which I think will interest you.

Interesting Indeed. Now I need more!!! Thanks Simon. Anyone know anywhere good to find random facts, stats.. and more? Doesnt have to relate to SCI's.

I think I am screwing up, is this poll to old to reply to. But anyway I am a T7/8 complete with 14 years of experience under my belt. Hope to catch up with the rest of you somehow.

Started off as a C5-7 Incomplete. They didn't tell me when I had the first fusion that the adjacent levels can fail from the stress of the fusion. Lost C4 in 2003, same symptoms returned as from original accident. Took docs a year to finally believe it, by that time disc had been sitting on the spinal cord too long, surgery in 2004. Had the same thing happen to C3, was having trouble breathing as well. Again took a year to convince the damn docs. Nothing left of the disc by the time they did the surgery, disc was jelly. Fortunately ability to breathe improved after they got what was left of the disc physically off my spinal cord, but got stuck with very severe asthma.

Hi Simon. Your poll is helpful to me, at least. Here are some facts that might be used in conjunction with your results. Here in the Chicago area, incomplete is diagnosis as QUADRIPERASIS==means weakness in a four limbs. It took me six years to get this diagnosis from my physiatrist. Do other countries use physiatrist?

I tried running the term walking quad pass my neurosurgeon and was told there was no such term.

I thought this post was retired by now. The results were just as I thought, C5 is the winner..

Knowthill its never too old. Thanks for the answer.

Notwheels Im sorry to hear your unfortunate circumstances, your will is srong, thats certain and admirable!
