Who among us has eye damage?
And do any of you attribute or suspect the cause be from Autonomic Dysreflexia?

I've had retinal detachments of both eyes plus catarats. I can't see any obvious link regarding catarats but it seems plausible that Autonomic Dysreflexia could be responsible for excessive pressure that could lead to tearing injuries.

In an initial Google I did come up with the following in regard to Autonomic Dysreflexia:
http://www.emedicine.com/PMR/topic217.htm
Medical Issues/Complications: Complications result directly from sustained severe peripheral hypertension and include retinal/cerebral hemorrhage, myocardial infarction, and seizures.

But I'd be interested in hearing of responses from any SCI people with eye problems that just might be linked to Autonomic Dysreflexia.

See what we younger SCI's have to look forward to as we grow older . . .errr, ummm . . . I mean wiser.
Seems our older brother and sister wheelrs have cataracts so bad they even missed your thread!!! yikes.gif

I had to rack my brains to recall I'd ever posted it. No answer is an emphatic answer.

"I've had retinal detachments of both eyes plus catarats." See, your Mother did warn you you'd go blind! biggrin.gif

The only info I can find is autonomic dysreflexia puts you at an increased risk of retinal hemorrhage.
