[FONT=Arial][SIZE=1][COLOR=blue]Hi this is my first time on here. I have just joined a basketball team in Bradford. Since i have a double amputation the wheelchairs used, i find, are to light; my ability to topple back is far greater. Can anyone suggest something that might help. smile.gif

You shouldn't be able to topple back, if they are the correct chairs, like the tennis, they have a wheel on the back, acts as an antitip

Hi maggs_43 and welcome to the forums! smile.gif

I think there are 'anterior counterweights' that can be placed on the chair to balance things out. I tried a search and found mention of them, but no real information to pass along. Maybe someone else will have better luck.

I seem to remember reading once that the 'die-hard' wheelchair sports participants don't want the tump wheels on their chairs. I suppose it might hinder those tight wheelie turns. (?)

Here is a link to the wheelchair basketball association in my area. Maybe fire the question at them and they should be able to help you. THe link is from Canada, but I assume the physics are the same. I don't even try as balance is too much of an issue for me.

Good Luck
