Well, if any of you read my blog then you know hubby & I are going through a kitchen remodel. So far it's been 4 months this last Sunday. Whew, I'm getting a bit tired washing dishes in the guest bathroom sink and cooking in a microwave & toaster oven. But when it's all done we'll have an awesome kitchen.
Our house was built in 1961, so the kitchen needed remodeling. So, we're creating an accessible kitchen that will work out great for us. This is the second kitchen remodel for us and the first time we learned a lot. This time we knew exactly what we wanted & how to go about doing it. The counters are lowered to 33" and have open spaces under the sink and stove. The stove is flat so it will be easy to slide pans on and off. We had a built in oven already that swung out, so we just had to update it with a new one (that was a trial finding one to fit in that space)! Next to our fridge is a pantry area with pull out drawers (hubby is really happy with the way these turned out & has already claimed the middle drawer). We are also putting in a drawer dishwasher next to our sink. Our counter tops will be recycled glass, very similar looking to granite - but environmentally friendly.
So far, we are really happy with the way everything is turning out. I can't wait to start cooking in my new kitchen!
