I think a Pub Forum would be a great place to address the most prominent cultural divide that separates Europe from America, Football!

European's are CRAZY! They actually play football with their feet (...and by the way, it's called "soccer"), and team rivalry becomes so fanatic that FANS assault and trample each other.

In the US, we tend to be a bit more civilized. Our football fans are not so barbaric; instead, we only let football TEAMS kill each other. We even dress them with protective equipment so they won't get mangled all at once. That tends to creates a bit of suspense during the game.

An "Apparelyzed Pub" sounds interesting. Am I to understand you're saying that's where you argue sports and stuff but not sex. I'm not a pub person but I like the easy access to this one and no troubles finding my way home.

As for football, in this corner of the world we call soccer soccer and we call football rugby. We are an emerging nation as far as soccer is concerned. Given the opportunity we could strut our stuff against Bhutan but any country you've heard off tends to cane us. But, we are emerging...from somewhere near the bottom to somewhere above the bottom. Occasionally we beat Australia to their embarrassment but no way this year.

American football and rugby have an egg-shaped ball in common. But that's about it. Rugby is for men and, apparently, AF is for cissies who wear crash helmets and padding to run about for two minutes before having a commercial break or being replaced by another player. I can't understand AF or why people even bother. Rugby is 30 men on the field for all or most of two 40min halves crashing and running, sweating and slobbering with only a brief halftime break and stops to remove injured combatants. It is a reliable source of new quadriplegic candidates.

In the meantime, if you are looking for a English 'soccer' team to support, I'll lend you my team - Tottenham Hotspur.

Avoid those glory hunters Chelsea, Man U, and cough cough Arsenal.

Have you seen the size of the players in the NFL? Their wrists are the same size as my neck, and diameter of their legs are the same size as my chest, and some players are as tall as pro basketball players.

Couple of seasons ago, UH football coach June Jones kept fielding what had to be the worlds worst quarterback. It was a guy named Timmy Chang.

Chang had a habit of throwing the ball into the hands of the other team. I could never understand why Jones kept him in the game, every F*cking game!

We (friends & I) made a running joke out of the probability that Jones was only keeping Chang in the game in trade for sexual favors that he was receiving from Chang in the locker room.

Georgia is hot right now. I dont think UH has played any team that would come close to GA. Hell if LSU didn't beat UT in the SEC championship game they would be playing Ohio. I think thats bull shit Ohio keeps sneaking into the championship game. Lsu is going to take them to eat there lunch just like UF did last year.

I'd like to brag that I was recently asked to do some advertorial writing (I do a bit of freelance when it comes my way) on the craft breweries in the district. Such a tough job made all the harder by every brewer insisting I take home a generous sample selection. I've sampled more different beers in the last week than the previous 10 years. Burp.

God no, I love them.. they are barely there, so light and easy to remove. I rest my arms on them constantly and use them to 'hang on'! Id be screaming "PARAPLEGIC DOWN" more often without them. I did have those little dirt flap that slid in the side of my seat.(the ones to keep the wheels from touching your clothes) Im not wide enough to need them so I took them off, they are dumb and just too much..

As for the song, it was Twisted Sister's 'I Wanna Rock'. I asked them to play the song, I never intended on singing it. One thing led to another and before you know it, I was up there singing, all to avoid an akward situation... and hear my jams. I hate karoke.

UH has been down before only to come back to win the game.

The problem is that they play "Hawaiian Kine" game which seems to be an easy-going in the initial opening part of the game, followed by a second part where they actually form a plan and put themselves into the game with resolve.

It's not like they actually start out with a clear plan, and you can see it in the way they play.

As far as conference goes, there was an attempt to kick open the doors of the big name colleges several years ago. The result was only a token gesture to allow smaller (not as well funded, but not necessarily lesser team) colleges to participate among the big-money universities, but that's only after they jump through all the hoops.

UH was undefeated this year, so it was impossible for the SEC to shut them out.

Unfortunately, with the way this game is going, I think I'll go back to drinking hard liquor.

That game pissed me off. UGA was acting like a bunch of idiots. An i dont know why they would run up the score like that, maybe they were trying to show everyone they should be playing the championship game????? My hats off to HU, they had a great year an should be kicking more ass next year.
